At the End of the 20th Century, and with the uncertainty of the new Millenium, the desire of C.P. Company to create innovative practical clothes for the urban resident, led to the development of the cult jacket Metropolis, which became part of the line of Urban Protection. For FW020, C.P. Company has created a new version of the Metropolis jacket with ultralight and high-performance Dyneema® fabric.
The Metropolis jacket features a removable anti-smog face mask that is adjustable through openings in the hood. This unique detail, featured also in the original version designed by Moreno Ferrari in 1999, makes the piece instantly recognisable in C.P. Company collection. The radical new design also features a multitude of functional details for use in an urban environment, such as double opening wind protection pockets, and the iconic Urban Protection series badge.
Dyneema® has the highest strength-to-weight ration of any humanmade fibre, approximately eight times that of high- strength steel, and therefore allows the construction of incredibly light yet incredibly strong fabrics. Dyneema® is also used, in cross-layer constructions, for personal body armour, high-performance sails and extreme climbing equipment.
